The VSSK Vykhlop (Vintovka Snayperskaya Spetsial'naya Krupnokalibernaya, Винтовка Снайперская Специальная Крупнокалиберная, "Special high-caliber sniper rifle", Vykhlop is Russian for "exhaust"), also known as the VSSK Vychlop or the VKS, is a Russian sniper rifle.

HistoryEdit

The weapon was first designed in 2002 as a sniper rifle made for silent firing and penetration power much greater than that of the VSS Vintorez. It is currently being used by the FSB and other Russian special forces.

Design DetailsEdit

The VKS is a straight-pull bolt-action sniper rifle with an integrated suppressor. It has an accuracy claim of one minute of arc at a range of 100 meters (328.1 feet) with precision bullets.

TriviaEdit

The VKS has appeared in various video games due to its futuristic appearance.

  • Call of Duty: Ghosts as the VKS
  • Contract Wars as the VSSK Vikhlop
  • Metro: Last Light as the Clapper
  • Survarium as the VSSK Vychlop

However, some games, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts and Metro: Last Light, incorrectly portray the weapon as semi-automatic.
