The Type 82 is a North Korean general purpose machine gun.

The Type 82 was designed by 1982 and replaces the Type 73 machine gun. As North Korea very rarely openly shares information about its military weapons, information about the Type 82 has been rather scarce other than a few photographs of the weapon.

Design detailsEdit

The Type 82 machine gun is very heavily based on the PKM machine gun, and as such, appears to be quite similar in operation, appearance and role.
