SAN Swiss Arms AG is a small arms manufacturer based in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland. Their most popular weapon at present is the SG 550 line of assult rifles. SAN Swiss Arms are part of the chain of companies that make up SIG Sauer GmbH.
Swiss Arms AG began producing firearms in Switzerland in the 1870s. Since then the company has slowly developed its processes and construction of firearms, benefitting greatly through heavy investment by parent company SIG Sauer in 2005, increasing the amount and quality of machinery and workforce.
In 2000 L&O Holdings bought the major firms under the SIG Sauer banner: Sauer & Sohn, Mauser Jagdwaffen GmbH, Blaser and SIG Arms Inc. along with Swiss Arms. The companies were renamed, collectively, as SIG Sauer GmbH from 2007.
Under the partnership, Swiss Arms manufacture a large number of parts and accessories for weapons made by its sister companies, chief amongst which are barrels.
