The Scicon PDW was a concept personal defense weapon designed by Scicon Ltd.

Overview

The Scicon PDW was developed in the mid-1980s as part of the Infantryman 2000 concept. It was a two-barreled weapon with an offset scope/handle. Scicon Ltd. expected it to be in service with the British Army by the year 2000, but the project was cancelled before it could advance beyond the prototype stages. The rifle was intended to fire 4.7mm caliber caseless rounds, and had an integrated 10mm caliber (some sources claim 30mm) grenade launcher component able to fire various munitions. There are some reports that claimed that two functioning prototypes were completed, apart from the PR and ergonomic handling mock-ups.
