The MG60 was a prototype general purpose machine gun designed and manufactured by German company Rheinmetall Defence AG.
The MG60 was an improved version of the World War II-era MG 42 derived MG 42V, or MG 45. It was upgraded internally, with a hammer within the piston, and it also different externally. Only two prototypes were produced before the project was cancelled. One of them is currently on display in a museum.
