The RPG-27 Tavolga (Таволга, mountain grass in English) is a Russian rocket launcher.
The RPG-27 was designed by Bazalt as a modern anti-tank rocket launcher designed to defeat modern and future tanks with advanced reactive and composite armor as well as fortified infantry. It was based on the previous RPG-26.
The RPG-28 looks similar to the RPG-26 in that they are both single-shot launchers, but the RPG-26 uses a larger warhead.
The RPG-28 uses the PG-27 round, a 105mm shaped warhead. The round has a stated penetration capability in excess of 600 millimeters (23.6 inches) of rolled homogenous armor (after explosive reactive armor), 1500 millimeters (59.1 inches) of brick or concrete and 3700 millimeters (145.7 inches) of earth.
A variant of the RPG-27 with a thermobaric warhead and a longer range of 600 meters (656.2 yards).
