The OTs-02 Kiparis (ОЦ-02 Кипарис, Russian for cypress) is a submachine gun designed by TsKIB SOO. It was initially designed in 1971 but only put into service 20 years later.

HistoryEdit

Originally designed in 1971, the gun was only put into service 20 years later. It was primarily intended for internal security and police units.

Design DetailsEdit

The Kiparis is a blowback-operated weapon of a conventional design. The receiver is made of pressed steel with a synthetic plastic grip, and has a rudimentary steel skeletonized stock. This stock folds up and over the receiver. The Kiparis also is able to accomodate a laser pointer or red dot sight which can be clipped forward of the magazine housing.

VariantsEdit

OTs-02 Kiparis

The standard variant of the SMG.

OTs-02-1

The same SMG, but with an integrated silencer.

GMC-700

A lesser known version of the Kiparis, which is a non-lethal gas pistol for private agencies. Only thirty were ever made.
