The Model 311, also known as CQ, is a series of assault rifle exported by Chinese firearms company Norinco under their branding. They are unlicensed copies of the M16A1, M16A2 and M4A1 assault rifles.

Overview[]

The Model 311 CQ is an M16A1 clone, with some distinguishing external changes. The front sight, grip and stock shapes differ from the M16. The Model 311 was originally produced as a semi-automatic export rifle, but later models were selective-fire. The plastics used on the Model 311 also differ from the M16. The outdated rifling twist of the Model 311 will not stabilize the newer SS-109 cartridge.

Copies[]

Although the Model 311 is itself a copy of the M16, it has been copied by various different countries.
