The M1879 Reichsrevolver was a service pistol used by the German Army from 1879 to 1908, when the Luger automatic pistol replaced it, the revolver had a solid frame and was single action and chambered for S&W 44 Russian. It had a loading gate on the right side and the cylinder could be released by moving the hammer to half cock, removing spent cartridges could be done by removing the cylinder and taking away the axis-pin then remove the empty cartridges by hand. Although the revolver's design was out dated it was still popular due to it being very robust, some of the revolvers even managed to see service in World War 1.
