The Kulikowski Military Carbine Experimental Model, also known as the MCEM-4, was a British submachine gun designed at Enfield by a team of Polish engineers. The aim of the weapon was to replace the STEN in British service.
This weapon was designed by the Polish team at Enfield, along with Podsenkowski's MCEM2. One of the weapons was designed by a Polish engineer called Kulikowski, and was dubbed the "MCEM4" during trial phases. It a suppressed submachine gun that was tested against the Mk.IIS STEN, a silenced variant. Unusually, very few records of the MCEM4 and MCEM5 survived, with no existing photographs of either. According to former employees at Enfield, neither weapon was particularly successful.
