The MP970 was a submachine gun designed by John P. Foote.

Overview[]

The MP970 was a 9mm submachine gun. It was made from rectangular welded tubing and was very easy to manufacture at very little cost. It was very compact and did not require a buttstock. It fired in full-auto only, with a fixed firing pin. It was fed through MP-40 magazines.

The "MP970" designation refers to the caliber (9x19mm Parabellum) and the year it was designed (1970).
