Eliphalet Remington

Eliphalet Remington (October 28, 1793 – August 12, 1861) is a famous gunsmith, and the founder of Remington Arms. Eliphalet was born in Connecticut to parents immigrating from Yorshire, England. He was a blacksmith, who at age 23 created the rifle that would start his manufacturing company, which he headed until his death in 1861, where his son Eliphalet II took over.
