The CZ-G 2000 was first produced by CZ-Guns Trade (not the more well-known Ceska Zbrojovka factory) in 1999, and was sold for a few years in Europe before disappearing. It was available in 9mm Parabellum and .40 Smith and Wesson. It resurfaced in 2005 as the Venezuelan arms factory CAVIM began licensed production of the 9mm variant. Some sources say that the Zamorana is 100% Venezuelan-made, but some parts (such as the frame) are imported from the Czech Republic.
