Special Announcement - Moving to IMFDB
Greetings, today is a very special moment for me, i have applied for an account creation for IMFDB site, which i have now!
Sadly, this means that my time on the Gun Wiki has come to an end, i will begin to move all of my content from the Gun Wiki to IMFDB, i will no longer operate on the Gun Wiki as this site sadly does not suit my needs... but it will be a new begining for me, as IMFDB is a Gold Mine of Weapon Knowlege, knowlege that i need to write the rest of my blogs regarding my Anachronisms and Innacuracies in Videogames/Animes/Moves/TV Series, as well as helping the boys and gals at IMFDB.
Thank you for all your support, See you in IMFDB, PEACE!
Weapon Innacuracies in MW3 (2011)
ARCHIVED - SEE ANNOUNCEMENT
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the final game of the original Modern Warfare Franchise, now this is the point that i would talk about how good the game is (apart of obvious issues, such as bugs, glitches and exploits).
Unfortunately, MW3 is, in my personal opinion, the most mediocre game of the Modern Warfare Franchise (and it would herald the prelude of the downfall of the Call of Duty Franchise as a whole), while the Campaign was not as bad as the first two games, it left a lot to be desired, Multiplayer was stale, SpecOps was... ok for the most part, but it had it's flaws.
The story had it's moments, good characters here and there, but that just- ok i going tangent here, you came looking for the juice, the weap…
Weapon Inaccuracies in COD4 (2007)
ARCHIVED - SEE ANNOUNCEMENT
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the first entry on the legendary original Modern Marfare universe, the campaign was amazing (albeit nonsencical), multiplayer was, at the time of release, innovative, fun and enjoyable. Although there were a few exploits, bugs and glitches, other than that, it was fun.
Unfortunately, when it came to weapon variety and military accuracy... this is when the Call of Duty franchise begin to fell apart.
To be fair, Infinity Ward, at the time of development of the game (2007), didn't have too much to work when designing the weapons for the game, most of the guns provided were airsoft replicas, which is understanable, as IW was unable to get real, genuine firearms for modeling and i thought…
Weapon Inaccuracies in MW2 (2009)
ARCHIVED - SEE ANNOUNCEMENT
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)... perhaps one of the most legendary entry in the COD franchise, its multiplayer was fun, although they were some bugs, exploits, glitches and weapon balance issues that made it unplayable most of the time, but other than that, it was an almost perfect gameing experience, so with that being said, campaign should be perfect... Right?
WRONG!
While some of the main characters personalities made them likable and memorable, the story of the campaign is a narrative, nonsensical mess! the first two levels (not counting the tutorial mission) were ok, but after the second mission, you know, THAT ONE... it went downhill... what was Infinity Ward thinking!? How in their minds they though …
Anachronisms and Inaccuracies in Black Ops 1
ARCHIVED - SEE ANNOUNCEMENT
Call of Duty: Black Ops 1, perhaps one of the most legendary entries in Treyarch's Call of Duty Series, the campaign was nothing short of amazing (albeit way over the top sometimes), multiplayer was great, while they were some balancing issues, bugs, exploits and glitches (like in every call of duty game), BO1 multliplayer was the most time i played in my free time, but 2 years later BO2 was released, and it was great as well, so naturaly, i moved on from BO1 to BO2, and... kind of forgotten BO1 existed in the first place.
8 years later i decided to replay BO1 for nostalgia reasons, but the more i played the game i could feel someting was... off, like if someting was out-of-place, but i could not figure it out wha…
Mystery shotgun
I found this weapon on a video game called Cops N Robbers. There is this one player who makes realisitc looking guns. But this gun caught my eye. What gun is this supposed to be?
More T56C Goodness!
After taking a break from spending hours and hours on Gun Wiki, just reading through and doing dizzying amounts of research, I'm back and looking for some new articles to contribute to. Of course I'll have to browse a bit, but hey, the more expertise I can gather, the more I know, the more I know, the better off I am. Knowledge is power, and I am more than enthusiastic to share that with anyone seeking it.
Since I've been gone for a bit, obviously I haven't posted anything. Well of course on my previous post, about my T56C patrol rifle project, I've made progress and revised what I want to do with it. I rethought my attachments a bit (which I'll update on the original post) and I got one so far. A WMLx 800 lumen rifle flashlight mounte…
If you are a role player
I would like to thank you for this wiki as it is making my job at providing information for weapons for the GURPS RPG much easier. If you are interested I have transferred and restructured information that was on RPG.net to the GURPSwiki.
- Weapons of GURPS Old West 1830 to 1917
- Weapons of World War I 1870 to 1918
- Weapons of World War II 1925 to 1945
Projects Projects Projects!
Field tests with the Type 56 Carbine have proven alright so far, but still leaving much to be desired. In its current state, I've taken it on patrols twice and I'm satisfied with how the shooting grip feels, but just as I suspected before outfitting it like it is now, it is heavier than it was before, and on the second patrol I took it on, I uncovered a few more gripes I have with its ergonomics and versatility (Talking specifically about attachments).
What I Have:
- TAPCO Intrafuse Stock (FDE)
- TAPCO Removeable SKS Magazines (Black, x3)
- MAGPUL Angled Fore Grip-2 (AFG-2)
- Filed the material inside of the receiver to prevent magazine fed rounds from scraping the metal and causing failures
What I Want:
- MAGPUL MOE Buttstock (FDE)
- TAPCO Ultimate Accessor…

In April 1914, Col. Abiel Bethel Revelli, an Italian officer and prolific arms designer, patented his new idea for an ultra-light, twin-barreled, pistol-caliber machine gun. Later that year, the gun was put into production at the RIV company's Turin factory, Officine di Villar Perosa, and marketed as the Revelli Automatic Machine Gun. It is now more commonly known as the simply "Villar Perosa", stemming from the name attributed to the gun in the British Small Arms Committee report of 1915. When Italy e…

The Gewehr 43 is the first self-loading rifle in the game, and is the second unlock for the Assault class. Its in-game depiction is pretty much accurate and it is clip-loaded by default, but can be upgraded to allow the player to reload it by swapping out the magazines.
The Remington Model 8 inexplicably returns from Battlefield 1, presumably out of developer laziness. It is the first self-…
Remembering lives once lost.
Today, 11 November 2018, marks the centenary of the end of World War I. Let us take some time to remember the lives lost during the war.
"It seemed that out of the battle I escaped
Down some profound dull tunnel, long since scooped
Through granites which titanic wars had groined.
Yet also there encumbered sleepers groaned,
Too fast in thought or death to be bestirred.
Then, as I probed them, one sprang up, and stared
With piteous recognition in fixed eyes,
Lifting distressful hands as if to bless.
And by his smile, I knew that sullen hall;
With a thousand fears that vision's face was grained;
Yet no blood reached there from the upper ground,
And no guns thumped, or down the flues made moan.
"Strange friend," I said, "Here is no cause to mourn."
"None,"…
Crime Busting in the Gun Wikia: How I Plan to Help Keep Fandom Clean, One Page at a Time
Hello, Fandom! Today, I'm a changed man. I've learned from my mistakes back at the Call of Duty Wikia that goofy edits are NOT permitted, and now I want to help KEEP them off of our favorite Wikias! Why the Hell, then, am I doing this? 'Cause just yesterday, I caught a rogue Fandom user editing some pages, and boy, they screwed up badly. They called you guys "fags". AND NO ONE CALLS THE GOOD PEOPLE OF FANDOM FAGS AND GETS OFF LIGHTLY WITH IT!!!!! So I ask YOU, good editors, to help me in busting bad edits.
Before the Sturmgewehr: The Lost Files
Oh look, it's July 10, 2017 (but depending on where you live, the date may be different). What does this mean? If it doesn't mean anything to you yet (and it probably won't), it's the second year anniversary of me posting a certain blog post about things that came before a very famous assault rifle: the StG 44. You can view the original blog post here.
The only reason why I am building this second blog on this day is mainly because there were one or two users who decided to "nitpick" (not really) on not having certain weapons added inside to that original blog post. So this blog post will address all that stuff, because I ain't gonna add any more firearms to that older post.

The XM17 Modular Handgun System competition
Okay, I'm not sure if you know about this stuff, but the Beretta M9 is due to be replaced. Well, at least it has been that way for the last couple of years, where the M9 has been deemed to be approaching the end of its service life. Same thing happened in 1985; when the M1911 was reaching the end of its service life, it was due to be replaced. And it was. By, ironically, the Beretta M9. Now, the competition is already long over and a winner has already been announced, but let's recap on whatever entries entered into this competition.
This is the XM17 Modular Handgun System competition.
Okay, for starters, other than the obvious "the M9 is reaching the end of its service life" stuff, there are other reasons as to why this competition was start…
The weapons of Battlefield 1
So. Battlefield 1 is out. A pretty good World War I-styled shooter with the standard mechanics of Battlefield games. But this is not what I wanted to talk about.
My main focus over here in this post... is the weapons. For some reason, DICE actually decided to add some pretty questionable and/or odd choices into the game for the player's use. I'm going to take a look at the more... questionable and odd choices.
- 1 Pistols
- 2 Submachine guns
- 3 Shotguns
- 4 Rifles
- 5 Machine guns
- 6 Launchers
Nothing special here, except for some pistols in the entire roster that stand out among the rest.
- The Kolibri
Okay. Let's face it. DICE probably put this tiny pistol in here for laughs. And I really mean for laughs. It is actually available for use in multiplayer. Not that it is …
Before the Sturmgewehr
The StG 44. Or Sturmgewehr 44. Or MP 4 - y'know what, who cares about the name? Let's just get straight to the point. The StG 44 is documented as the first successful assault rifle. Nazi technology controlled by Hitler. Sieg heil.
Anyway, if anyone tells you that the first successful assault rifle is the AK-47, give them a fistful of your knowledge. Anyway, while the StG 44 is the first successful assault rifle, it isn't the first assault rifle. In fact, a few weapons came before it. In this post, I will detail these few weapons that came before the legendary Sturmgewehr. This is: Before the Sturmgewehr.
Let's start off in the year 1893, with a very unusual British rifle.
An odd rifle by any standards, very little is known about this rifle. Its t…

The AR15 Legacy - Will It Continue?
Just thought I'd throw this out there - with the U.S. Army conducting the Individual Carbine competition, does anyone think that the direct impingement AR15 system will eventually fade out? Aside from the Swedish AG-42 Ljungman and the French MAS 49/56, only the AR15/M16 platform soldiers on in military service. I understand that the U.S. Marine Corps is staying with the M16A4 and M4A1. I also saw where the U.S. Army has purchased gas piston actions as add-ons to newly purchased M4A1's. After all these years, ( 50+ years), is the AR15 direct impingement system really as unreliable as some people portray it? Direct impingement does have its advantages, and I read somewhere where the French MAS 49/56 in particular, was extremely reliable in…
my favorite gun
since this is the Gun Wiki, I thought it wouldn't be complete without a "Favorite Gun" blog, so my favorite gun is...

Hello,
What assualt rifle do you think is the overall best in terms of efficiency, mag. capacity, range, etc.?
Popular Myth vs Reality - Guns and Ammo
I'm new to this site, but I have to say so far I like what I see and enjoy navigating the site and reading the articles and posts. I just wanted to give my 'two cents worth' on a couple of subjects.
First, there is no such thing as perfect - gun or otherwise. For every different firearm there are strengths and weaknesses. Overall, most military weapons are reliable and effective. A weapon will not remain in inventory for any length of time, if it does not perform at least adequately. Military weapons especially, see some of the hardest use and abuse in any area of life. The endless debate of AK47 vs M16, semi-auto vs pistol, shotgun vs long gun, battle rifle vs assault rifle and so on, is only natural, but the truth, as usual, lies somewher…
New Member
Hello to all! I'm new to this site, and just wanted to say hi. I'm an avid gun fan and history buff. I own a 1891/30 Mosin Nagant rifle and enjoy target shooting at a local gun range. I was unemployed in November, 2010 and am currently attending online college for a two year computer degree. I've been married 21 years with two sons ages 13 and 17. I love all thngs gun related, and just came across Gun Wiki recently. Merry Christmas!
The New Gun Wiki
Well folks I'm working hard to update everything. I've started with the Home Page and some of the Help Pages. I redid the categories so there are fewer but they don't all come up in drop down list. I have also started giving out Awards.
If there is someone you think deserves an award let me know.
I am going to start going through every article and get them checked for plagiarism, spam and re-categorized them so they are easier to find. Full cut and pasted Wikipedia articles will be deleted without notice.
I am looking for someone that can create new Gun and Cartridge Infoboxs. Let me know if you want to tackle the job.
If you have any ideas on how we can make Gun Wiki better let me know. SgtMajGW G. GloverSemper Fi 19:21, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

I like the M1 Garand because it helped the Allies winWW2. But they changed it because the sound it makes when reloading.
Writer needs help...
I'm working on a historical fiction set in Wyoming in 1881. Other than Colt Pattersons and Colt .45 Peacemakers, what guns and rifles were used in that era? Thanks in advance for any help!!
Assault Rifles, classification as
Hi all,
Just found this place, think it may be a cool idea. Of course the first place I went was Assult Rifles since this is the most often abused term of modern Media. I probably need eduction about this site, but here is a shot at what I think the intro should say:
An Assault Rifle is a rifle designed for and typically issued to modern military personel. The major featrue required in the design is that the rifle be full-automatic. That means the rifle is designed and manufactured to fire more than one round of ammunition for a single action of the firing trigger. In contrast, a Semi-Automatic weapon is designed and manufactured to fire a single round of ammo with each action of the firing trigger. For instance, a crank opperatied gat…

The Amarican M4---Good or Bad?
As we all know, the Amarican Army uses the Colt M4, an offshoot of the ancient M16. while not as abysmal as the M16, It has a long list of problems. some of these include: (skip this if you already know)
- 34% of soldiers reported that their M4's handguards rattle and become excessively hot when firing.
- 20% reported double-feeding.
- 15% reported feeding jams.
- 13% reported that feeding problems were due to magazines.
- 20% were dissatisfied with its ease of maintenance.
- Soldiers requested the following changes:
- 55% requested the firearm be made lighter
- 20% requested a larger magazine
Something I have Omitted from here is that 89% of soldiers reported confidence in the weapon. I got this from the Colt M4 gunpedia page, and wiki is'nt always accurate. The …
