The sniper is colored in a desert tan, plus it has a higher rate of fire than its normal counter-part, meaning the player can fire faster and take down enemies quicker. However, the faster rate of fire is hardly, if not at all noticeable. Also, due to the SR-25 Sandfire having relatively high recoil, it is often difficult to accurately fire it at full speed. It was last clocked at firing .266 seconds faster than the standard SR-25. The Sandfire also has a slower reload speed than the standard version, so compensate for the "faster" rate of fire. The weapon draw animation, as with every other supply case only weapon, is more fluid and smooth than the standard weapon animations. This is also one of the rarest snipers to see in use by another player.

The rifle fires a 5.56x45mm NATO round, a military grade cartridge that can be used in hunting and target applications as well as defensively. The gun has a collapsable stock, a banana magazine, rail systems on the top and bottom for mounting accessories. The factory standard sights are ghost ring type. The barrel is cut with a flash suppressor. 		+	I was born in the central mid-west of the USA in 1952.  I have been a shooter since I was 10, had full possesion of my own firearms since I was in 5th grade.  Worked to earn the money, bought and paid for my first pistol at 14.

		+	I am a Mechanical Engineer, have NRA issued certificaiton as an Instructor in Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Home Firearms Safety & Personal Protection in the Home.  I have assisted in instructing several hundred persons so they could obtain their Michigan CPL.  I reload for Rifle and Pistol.  I have in the past competed in NRA Pistol, IHMSA Handgun Siloetica, and NRA high power rifle.

Hi all,

Just found this place, think it may be a cool idea.  Of course the first place I went was Assult Rifles since this is the most often abused term of modern Media.  I probably need eduction about this site, but here is a shot at what I think the intro should say:

An Assault Rifle is a rifle designed for and typically issued to modern military personel.  The major featrue required in the design is that the rifle be full-automatic.  That means the rifle is designed and manufactured to fire more than one round of ammunition for a single action of the firing trigger.  In contrast, a Semi-Automatic weapon is designed and manufactured to fire a single round of ammo with each action of the firing trigger.  For instance, a crank opperatied gattling gun is classified as a as a semi-automatic because it takes a distinct action (the force on the crank changes as you rotate it) of the triggering device (the crank) to fire each round.  A modern assualt riffle requires only one action (pulling and holding the trigger back) to fire multiple rounds of ammunition (until it runs out of ammo if you hold the trigger back long enough).

In the United States all sales of full-automatic weapons among civilians is regulated by the ATF (insert link) which is a sub division of the Treasurey Department (insert link).  There is a $200 transfer tax that must be paid for each tranfer of title of these weapons.  See (insert link to NFA)  Please note that it has been illegal to manufacture new full-automatic weapons in the USA that might be offered to sale to civilians since 1986.

By this definition it should become very obvious to newbees how to distiguish among all the comercial offerings and between the hype and hyperbole.

If this is accepted, I believe the "List of Assault Rifles" should be edited to remove all references to semi-automatic weapons (IE the Ruger SR-556 has not and cannot be manufactured in full auto for sale to civilians, it is only an cosmetic lookalike).  I think the all weapons that are now avalible as semi-automatic but were at one time avalible as full-automatic (IE the Ruger Mini-14) should have an asterik or somehow be so noted.
